Surroundings

“Bij den Driek” is located between the Maas river and the national park “Hoge Kempen”, near the cycling network junctions 52, 53, 58 and 59.

Culturally and historically interesting cities like Tongeren, Maaseik, Thorn, Maastricht, Bokrijk and Aken, industrial heritage sites like C-Mine in Genk, or the open-air shopping mall “Maasmechelen Village”, are all easy to reach by bicycle.

Another recommended destination is the town of Old-Rekem, which has been labelled as World Heritage by Unesco. Moreover, the area is blooming with many restaurants and places to eat and/or drink. (Click here for more information)

If you are interested in daytrips that are a bit further away from the guest house, you can explore the bordering Haspengouw area and the “Limburgse Kempen”. The beautiful Hageland area is also recommended for the nature lovers among us.
